Air
The emission of organic substances into the environment is regulated by law with the Bundesimmissionsschutzgesetz (Federal Control of Pollution Act, BImSchG).
Odour nuisances are not necessarily unhealthy. However, similar to non-odourus emissions, they may well contain hazardous or regulated substances. Emissions get into the environment, for example, by exposed contaminated areas or during manufacturing processes where exhaust air decontamination systems are either inadequate or missing altogether.
PiCA Prüfinstitut Chemische Analytik GmbH analyses both soil air in contaminated areas and landfill gas. In the case of emission measurements of raw and clean gas, we also test for unusual parameters.
Among others, PiCA Prüfinstitut Chemische Analytik GmbH tests for the presence of
- VOC (siloxanes, BTEX, CFC)
- sulfur compounds
- phenols
- organic acids
- poly-aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH)
